About Lance Muirheid
My name is Lance Muirheid, and I am the 7th generation on my family farm. Together with my father we grow corn, soybeans, and wheat. We share equal responsibilities on the farm. In the spring, I work the ground and my father plants the seeds and, in the fall, I run the combine while he operates the grain cart. My family has been farming in the central Illinois area for 170 years, and we continue to operate out of Macon County. In fact, we are still proudly farming the same tract of land my ancestors first laid claim to back in 1856.
Our goal is to continue to pass down our rich history of farming to the generations that come after us, putting conservation at the top of our priority list. We aim to take care of the land, including the ground that we rent from our neighbors, as if we were going to be farming it for the next 170 years.
