Meet The Walsh Family

We are a fourth-generation grain and livestock family farm near Peoria. Like most family-owned farms, we have multiple generations of family members working side by side every day. On our farm we grow corn, soybeans and hay. We have around 45 cow-calf pairs, sell feeder calves, as well as own and manage a sow farm and sell all of our weaned pigs. Our farm would be considered large to most, but we’ve never forgotten where we came from. The values that guided my great grandfather when he started the “family business” in the 1930s are the same ones we live by today.

Not everyone can work with their family. We consider ourselves very fortunate; it’s the best part about being part of a family farm.

At a young age I loved to go out to the barn and pet the little pigs. As an adult, I can’t imagine doing anything else but caring for our animals.

I’m incredibly passionate about educating kids on where their food comes from. When we started Illinois Ag in the Classroom 10 years ago in Peoria County we were in 120 classrooms. Today, we get to do this in 250+ classrooms.
