Meet The Michels Family

Weiler Enterprises, Inc., is a multigenerational dairy and grain farm. The dairy started in 2012, renting a barn to milk 50 cows. In February 2016, we moved into our new barn with the ability to milk 120 cows with two robotic milkers. We take a lot of pride in providing a quality product for other families. We look for opportunities to farm more sustainably, like recycling bedding and applying manure to the fields near the farm that in turn grow the crops that feed our cows.

More than one-third of American farmers are female, and 56% of farms have a woman as a decision-maker. We work really hard to teach our kids that women have a place in agriculture, too.

Dairy farming is more than just milking cows. A huge part of it is growing and harvesting feed.

Chores might take a little longer some days with little kids to look after, but it’s worth it to teach them the value of taking care of animals and an honest day’s work.
