Meet The McCabe Family

I’m Jessica, part of the fourth generation of McCabe Farms in Manhattan, Illinois. My husband, Kevin, and my in-laws, Janet and Joe, run most of our day-to-day farming operations, in addition to our cousins, who we can always count on to help!

I didn’t grow up on a farm, but it has become deeply ingrained in my soul. The fresh cut hay, the long days spent surrounded by loved ones working towards shared goals, and the slow pace of life—except when it comes to battling the rain—have become ingrained in my life. Farming has brought both challenges and sacrifices, but the rewards are immeasurable.

Looking out my kitchen window, I can witness the smiles, the laughs, and a break from the relentless onslaught of technology in our children’s lives. As a mother, I’m dedicated to ensuring that my kids grow up surrounded by love, a strong work ethic, and the values of family. I’m committed to preserving this farm’s legacy. It’s not just about the land; it’s about the legacy we’re building for future generations.

We Raise

It is important to our family that the kids are involved in the farm. This is our daughter; she is helping switch seed varieties. These were planted in a field near our house so that she can participate in the field checks and watch her corn grow.

Between working full-time jobs and owning a farm, we have learned to prioritize family time wherever we can. Rylee has absolutely grown to love riding with her dad, and the quality time is priceless. She prides herself on packing a “snack purse” so that neither of them gets hungry.
