Meet The Gorden Family

We’re the Gordens — Clint, Ashley, and Becket — and we’re from Blue Mound, IL. We grow corn, soybeans, and wheat in southern Macon County and Northern Christian County. CMG Farms, LLC is a skip-generation operation, meaning that Clint’s parents didn’t farm, but Clint spent a lot of his childhood on the farm watching his grandpa work the land. One thing that we are certain of is that it takes a team in agriculture to get the jobs done and do things as cost-effective and environmentally-friendly as possible, and we are confident that we have one of the best. Taking care of the land, growing crops sustainably, taking care of each other and the people we work with, all while having a good time — that’s what we are all about.

We use sustainable techniques like cover crops and strip tilling to preserve soil health. This cover crop mixture of oat, radish, and turnip helps with winter water runoff and prepping the seed bed for spring.
