About Vanessa Wright
My name is Vanessa Wright, and I am working towards becoming the 4th generation on my family farm in northern Illinois. My grandfather and great-grandfather started farming in 1963. My dad joined the farm in 2005, and I’ve never known life without it. After living and working away from home for several years, my husband, Logan, and I decided to move back home in 2023. While many factors led to this decision, family and the farm were at the heart of it.
Gould Farms is currently being run by the 3rd generation (my dad). We grow corn and soybeans and are always looking for new ways to be responsible stewards of the land by testing new practices and products. Today, I am balancing an off-the-farm job as a crop insurance agent while actively learning the farm business, and I look forward to continuing my family’s legacy into the next generation.
