FOLLOWING IN MY DAD’S FOOTSTEPS
I’ve been farming for 15 years. Growing up on a farm, I wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps. I was able to take over the grain operation on the family farm while pursuing more land of my own. In the early years of building my business, I would supplement our income by taking other jobs. Eventually, I secured enough land to farm full time.
A LIFESTYLE I LOVE
We grow corn, soybeans, wheat and alfalfa on 3,000 acres while raising three kids. I enjoy being my own boss, and the ability to provide for and raise a family in the farming lifestyle has been a huge blessing. Also, I take pride in knowing that we make a significant contribution not only in our own community, but also to communities across the country and globe.
A FARMER’S PHILOSOPHY
I believe all farmers should treat the land with respect. We should be making decisions based on what’s best for the land so that it’s protected and provides for this generation and generations to come.
