Court White
Agronomist
I grew up in rural Michigan where I worked on a multigenerational family farm until I started college – at which point I knew I wanted to continue working in agri-business. After meeting my wife Haley at Western Illinois University, I relocated to Jacksonville, Ill. Today, I work for an independent family-owned agricultural retail company that assists farmers in finding solutions to different challenges that arise on today’s family farms. Through specialized training, I:
- Work with Illinois farmers through the complete agronomic (full growing) cycle of crops, including soil fertility, seed selection and crop protection.
- I also help producers manage their farm data and provide custom application of fertilizer and pesticides as needed.
I didn’t have the opportunity to go back to the farm myself, so working hand-in-hand everyday with farmers and their families is the next best thing. I can’t imagine a career where I wouldn’t be able to work with these individuals, helping them to meet their goals and expectations. Illinois farmers are competing in a global marketplace to produce wholesome food, and they need knowledgeable people whom they trust to assist them in raising the bar year after year.
