3 Steps to Grilling the Perfect Steak
A recent survey found that when it comes to the grill, Americans choose beef. Whether you’re using a gas or charcoal grill, in the backyard or at a tailgate, this cooking method provides maximum flavor and optimal tenderness for a meal sure to please the whole family!
Before you start grilling, here are a few tips from the experts:
Choosing Your Cut
Some of the best cuts for grilling include the Strip Steak, Flank and Ribeye. Ask for cuts at least one inch thick for a great grilling experience. Thinner cuts will cook too quickly.
Prepare Your Beef
Tender beef cuts can be marinated for 15 minutes to two hours for flavor. Less tender cuts, such as the Flank, should be marinated for six hours, but never more than 24 hours.
Prepare the grill according to the manufacturer’s directions for medium heat. Remove beef from refrigerator and season with herbs and seasonings, as desired.
Get Grilling
Place beef on cooking grid and sear both sides for one minute to lock in juices. Grill covered, according to this grilling chart, turning occasionally. Once finished, season your beef with salt and let it rest for three minutes for a juicy eating experience.
